The Young and the Restless Recap: Devon Tells Tucker What We’ve All Been Thinking

Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for December 27, 2023, details Devon telling Tucker he wanted nothing more to do with him.

Tucker Hears The Harsh Truth

Tucker (Trevor St. John) stood in Devon’s (Bryton James) office and did his best to explain the statutory rape cover-up to Devon, insisting the musician didn’t get away with anything because he was arrested for his crime. Too bad that wasn’t good enough for Devon, which was understandable.

Devon even regretted allowing Tucker to see Dominic on Christmas. Tucker insisted he loved both Devon and Dominic and what happened years ago didn’t change the fact that they were family. Still, Devon didn’t think that his father could be trusted.

Tucker once again tried to defend himself, but Devon, like the rest of us, was sick of it. He laid out every horrible thing Tucker had done since returning to Genoa City. He then told him what we all wanted to say.

Trying to guess his next move was exhausting and Devon didn’t want to do it anymore. In fact, he just wanted Tucker out of his life once and for all. Tucker was a little taken aback, but respected Devon’s wishes and forlornly left.

Kyle’s Big Plan

At the Abbott mansion, Diane (Susan Walters) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) happily read all the horrible things about Tucker that were now all over the internet. Now, they waited to see what would happen when Kyle handed him false Jabot information. Diane just wanted to know what they would do if the plan didn’t work.

Audra (Zuleyka Silver) got her own wake-up call when Clarence, the character who would recap Y&R in a savvy way in the 1980s, appeared on her laptop screen and our TV screens hosting his own version of GC Buzz. He had the scoop on Tucker and Audra had to face what they both did, especially after he intimated that there were other players in this scandal.

She didn’t have much chance to ruminate about this because Kyle came knocking at her door to tell her that Billy (Jason Thompson) and Jack (Peter Bergman) were shutting him out of Jabot decisions. That meant their plan might not work. Of course, that was all a lie.

Audra was pretty much done with Kyle at this point and told him just that. She didn’t trust him and had to look out for number one now. As Kyle tried to convince Audra to join him in screwing over Tucker, the man of the hour knocked on the door.

Audra let him in so Tucker could accuse Kyle of planning the whole press leak. Kyle denied everything and Audra just sat back and watched, trying to decide whose team she was on.

Phyllis Is Relentless

While Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) gave Christine (Lauralee Bell) the third degree about her relationship with Danny (Michael Damian) at Crimson Lights, Danny sat down with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Daniel (Michael Grazeiadei) for breakfast. Phyllis was ready to lament her life to anyone who would listen once again.

So, when Daniel left, Phyllis was happy to have her say with Danny but she asked for it to be in private. Phyllis got her wish when Danny took her to his and Daniel’s apartment. However, she didn’t have much to say. Instead, she pulled Danny in for a kiss.

Danny responded for a bit, but then pulled away as Phyllis insisted something was happening between them. Danny, on the other hand, insisted she was wrong. Danny explained that they were just friends now and nothing more. That seemed to surprise Phyllis despite seeing him kissing Christine several times over the last few weeks.

That didn’t mean Phyllis was about to give up. Nope, she put on her seductive voice and got Danny to kiss her this time. Danny finally pulled away, told Phyllis he had a lot to lose, and explained he wanted to start anew with Christine.

Right on cue, Christine knocked on the door, so Phyllis made her exit. Danny was open and honest and told Chris that Phyllis made a move, but he didn’t say he responded. Instead, he kissed Christine as they agreed to see where this rekindled romance would take them.
