The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for for December 14, 2023, promise another day of Forrester and Logan fighting as Ridge stands his ground — but so do his siblings and they plan to put up a fight.
Ridge Won’t Give In
Despite pleas from Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Donna (Jennifer Gareis), Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) insists that Eric (John McCook) wouldn’t want any heroic measures to save or prolong his life, so he is ready to literally pull the plug on this father and say goodbye.
It doesn’t matter that Finn (Tanner Novlan) thinks there could be a way to avoid this. Finn is the doctor and might know what he is talking about.
Ridge is adamant that his father not suffer on the off chance he can still live a happy life. He is not willing to give in and allow Finn to perform this highly experimental treatment that may or may not work. He can’t watch his father be in any more pain and believes he is following Eric’s wishes.
Perhaps Eric meant they shouldn’t leave him on a ventilator when there was no hope and not deny a treatment that could give him a longer and happy life…
Ridge Has Opposition
Yes, Eric gave Ridge power of attorney over medical decisions, but that doesn’t mean his siblings are just going to lie down and take this. Thorne (Winsor Harmon) and Bridget (Ashley Jones) disagree with Ridge’s decision and let him know how they feel.
Bridget is a doctor and is aware of the risks, as well as the benefits. Yes, Eric would have a long recovery ahead of him but if he can get more years to spend with his children and grandchildren, why not do whatever it takes to make that happen? Donna may have said her goodbyes to Eric, but she certainly agrees with Bridget.
By the end of the hour, Eric is in an operating room but that doesn’t mean he is out of the woods. Yes, Bridget and Thorne (as well as Donna and Steffy) may have won this round, but the treatment has to work and Eric still has to fight.
