In addition to reflecting on acting roles past, daytime dial hopper Stephen Schnetzer spent his time in The Locher Room discussing his upcoming return to The Bay (where he plays ne’er-do-well attorney Richard Kaufman) as well as reprisal some four decades in the making.
Stephen Schnetzer DAYS Bound
“I have an announcement to make. Breaking news,” declared Schnetzer, clearly taking Locher by surprise. “As far as I know, next week I’m flying out to LA… I hope I’m not giving anything up they’ve asked Steve Olson to come back for a couple of episodes. I’ll say no more than that.”
The “they” are, of course, the higher-ups at NBC Days of our Lives. And as for this Steven Olson character, that’s Julie Olson Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) ne’er-do-well brother (are you starting to suss out a pattern to the types that Schnetzer excels at playing?).
Schnetzer assumed the role in 1978 and remained onscreen for a year. During his tenure, Steve involved himself in counterfeiting antiques, engaged in diamond smuggling and made Julie and Doug’s (Bill Hayes) lives an all-round misery.
Owning to DAYS’ accelerated filming schedule, don’t expect to glimpse Schnetzer any earlier than Fall 2024.
