When news broke that Days of our Lives was opening up the floodgates and welcoming back a raft of alums for some very special episodes that will double as a tribute to both Doug Williams and the man who portrayed for over 50 years — the late, great Bill Hayes — fans anxiously anticipated the return of Kristian Alfonso.
Kristian Alfonso Back At DAYS Where She Belongs
And that wait was rewarded this Tuesday when news broke that the actress was officially reprising her role of Hope Williams Brady. Alfonso reported back to work on Monday, April 22, and was welcomed with open arms by many a familiar face — but no reunion was more poignant than the one between her and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams), Bill’s widow and her beloved play stepmother/half-sister (don’t ask, it’s a real complicated family tree!).
The two took advantage of a lull behind-the-scenes to cozy up together and take some photos, one of which was uploaded to their respective Instagram accounts with the caption “Doug’s Girls.”

Several beloved members of the daytime community, past and present, some of them DAYS alums, took the post’s comments section. Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair, The Young and the Restless), Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, Y&R; ex-Donna Temple Craig, DAYS), Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie Jonas, DAYS), Casey Moss (ex-JJ Devereux, DAYS), Stephen Nichols (Steve “Patch” Johnson, DAYS), and Greg Meng (former co-executive producer and executive in charge of production of DAYS) all offered up emoji hearts.
