Though it was Connie who plunged that knife into Li Shin’s back on Days of our Lives, the murderess lays the blame for her would-be lover’s death at Gabi’s (Cherie Jimenez) feet. And while that logic doesn’t quite compute with the audience at large, actress Julie Dove grants it makes perfect sense to her twisted alter-ego.
Julie Dove On Her Alter-Ego’s Thought Process
“It’s pretty twisted, but…everything makes sense to [Connie],” she insists to Soap Opera Digest. “She acted out because she was upset. She was upset with the way people were treating Li and the way Li was treating her. She feels that if Gabi and Stefan and Melinda hadn’t gotten in the way, Li would’ve loved her. It’s irrational, but that’s what she thought…Gabi is definitely public enemy number one.”
Hence Connie going in for the kill this week…and since she needs to also unburden herself of Melinda (Tina Huang), what better way than to blow her and Gabi to Kingdom Come? But there are yet still more victims on Connie’s hit list. Teases Dove: “She feels like she is just about to cross the finish line. She just needs to take care of Ava and Stefan, and then life is good.”
