Days of our Lives’ EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel) has a most veracious appetite…metaphorically speaking. And much like Veruca Salt, he doesn’t care how, but he wants it now. The “it” being the top spot at DiMera Enterprises and his job as D.A. of Salem. But with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Stefan (Brandon Barash) gunning for him and Mayor Price (Jackée Harry) tiring of his antics, EJ has but one hope: usurp his boss, and use his wife’s new position to do it!
Daniel Feuerriegel Talks EJ’s Scheme
With Jackie Of All Trades Nicole (Arianne Zucker) now firmly ensconced at The Spectator, Feuerriegel details to Soap Opera Digest that his alter-ego asks her to “write an exposé on Paulina and her terrible leadership. Because now he’s starting to think, ‘OK, if the walls are closing in around me, how am I going to stop this? Oh, maybe we can recall Paulina, and I can run for mayor. Then I can make this all go away.’ That’s how EJ’s thinking. It’s not a matter of confessing and being honest or anything like that. It’s about, ‘How can I make this go away?'”
At the heart of EJ’s scheme is the drive to be number one. Says the actor, “That’s it. Nothing else matters. Number one, it’s pride and family. Because if he’s number one, that means DiMera is number one.”
