When next you see Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) baby boy on General Hospital — which just so happens to be today’s (September 30, 2024) airshow — he’ll look a mite different than the last time. Colin Cassidy is succeeding Tristan Riggs in the role.
Colin Cassidy Coming To General Hospital As Recast Aiden
Counting the two sets of twins who portrayed the character in his earliest appearances, Cassidy makes the ninth actor to assume the part. Titus Jackson — the real-life son of Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer) and wife Lisa Vultaggio Jackson (ex-Hannah Scott ) — helmed the part from 2011 to 2012 and was followed swiftly by Jason David, and Enzo De Angelis.
Colin Cassidy “Very Grateful” For Opportunity
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, who was the first to report the switcheroo, Cassidy relayed that he felt “incredibly grateful for this opportunity. To be thrown in with the incredible actors I’m working with and have these amazing scenes to do … It’s really not something to scoff at! It’s a big deal and I’m very grateful.”
On his character, Cassidy mused: “Aiden is a very sweet young man. He’s loving, caring, thoughtful. He’s ambitious; he’s got his baking business and he works hard in school. But I think the most important thing to him is his family — especially his mom. He’s very protective of his mom. He trusts her; he feels like he can be himself with her.”
Feelings when appear to be mutual between Cassidy and Herbst. Noted he: “She is incredible! I can’t say enough good things about her.”
