With avid musician Marshall off on tour, two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Robert Gossett is officially out at General Hospital — but only for the time being.

Per Soap Opera Digest, Marshall’s exit (and, by extension, Gossett’s) is not intended to be permanent. That said, he will be off the canvas for what is being termed “an extended period.”
Gossett first appeared on the ABC sudser on October 18, 2021. During his tenure, his errant alter-ego reclaimed his position as patriarch of the Ashford family, learned that he’d been misdiagnosed as a schizophrenic decades earlier (the impetus for the abandonment of his kin), and romanced Epiphany Johnson (played by the late, great Sonya Eddy).
Gossett’s work netted him back-to-back Daytime Emmys in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category (2023 and 2024). His last airdate was October 3, 2024.
