Though Lindsay Hartley (ex-Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, Passions) last filled the role, when Sam McCall next pops up on General Hospital, she’ll be played by the part’s originator, Kelly Monaco.
Kelly Monaco Coming Back To GH
Per Soap Opera Digest, Monaco’s reprisal kicks off with the episode set to air Wednesday, September 25th. According to the synopsis: “Sam visits Carly. Sonny and Kristina have a heart-to-heart. Jordan confides in Isaiah. Molly meets with Martin. Ulrich makes a high-stakes offer.”
Rumors swirled in August that Monaco had been fired from the ABC sudser and that her alter-ego would meet an untimely fate sometime in the fall. The actress’s fans immediately mobilized to convince TPTB to reconsider the decision, employing online petitions, billboards, and placing calls to both the GH Comment Line and the ABC Comment Line.
Of note: Representatives from GH have not commented on the claims.
