The doctors of General Hospital are known to…bend the rules to their liking. Sometimes that means altering a paternity test for a friend. Sometimes that means hiding a fake pregnancy. Other times that means doing things like Brook Kerr’s Portia did and changing a few little test results to keep a killer in prison.
Brook Kerr Defends Her Character
While this isn’t the first time Portia has played dirty (remember when she brought Oz Haggerty out of his coma to save Trina from time behind bars?) she’s usually not one to meddle in the medical records. The good doctor knows she has a lot to lose if she’s caught. Is the risk worth it? Portia seems to think so!
“Portia is doing it … not necessarily unconsciously, but she’s doing it more like, “Let’s just dot our I’s and cross our T’s. Let’s just make sure there’s no room for this not to go the way we want it to [when Heather is in court]. Let’s leave no room for chance.” So when it comes out, it’s, you know, no harm, no foul,” Brook Kerr told Soap Opera Digest.

Obviously, a lot can go wrong when you get your hands dirty. This is something that is at the forefront of Portia’s mind. Adding to the drama is the reintroduction of Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) to the canvas. This could spell very bad news for Portia and her shocking scheme. “Brad’s a wild card!” Brooke teases “Portia doesn’t trust him. He’s proven that he can’t be trustworthy, so to have any sense of vulnerability that he might find out something that is so important to Portia is terrifying to her.”
The one person Portia can count on is her dutiful daughter. She and Trina (Tabyana Ali) are o the same page when it comes to the likes of Heather (Alley Mills). In fact, no one is happier than Trina to see her mama make such a bold move. “She was like, ‘Yesssss!'” Jokes Kerr. “Like, ‘My mom’s got my back!’ She loves it.” Trina is usually a stickler for rules but even she knows some rules are meant to be broken.
Will Portia pay a high price when the truth comes out? Will her actions put her in danger? Does the end justify the means? That’s for viewers to decide as this storyline unfolds! Make sure you tune in to see all the other twists and turns coming Portia’s way!
