Emme Rylan stole fans’ hearts in the role of Lulu Spencer. She poured herself into the General Hospital role from 2013 to 2020 until the character was shuffled off-screen in a coma. Now, Lulu is coming back…but Rylan isn’t.
Closure for Emme Rylan
Emme took to Instagram today to share her thoughts on not being welcomed back to Port Charles as news dropped of a casting call that most certainly is for her former alter-ego. “Yes, it’s true. GH has decided to recast Lulu.” She wrote on her Instagram stories. “Although I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure. (And thank goodness GH brought all you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!).”
Rylan isn’t the only one upset by this twist. Her fans are as well. They’ve been calling for her return for four years and are apprehensive about the idea of someone else playing the beloved character.
Emme Rylan cemented herself as a daytime mainstay right off the hop with her first soap role as Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light. She spent her first three sudsy years there. After that, she hopped over to The Young and the Restless in the role of Abby. She was front and center for three glorious seasons.
