General Hospital promised a surprise guest at Bobbie’s memorial this week and boy did it deliver in the most amazing way as Brighton Hertford, the actress who played young BJ Jones in the 1990s, made an appearance as the reporter working with Bobbie to expose human trafficking toward the end of the character’s life.
‘BJ’ Attended Bobbie’s Funeral
Perhaps it was the red hair and the name Angela Brighton that gave it away, but eagle-eyed viewers, including the Daily Drama team, quickly recognized the reporter as the performer who brought young BJ to life.
As longtime fans know, BJ was Bobbie’s beloved daughter who died in a school bus accident in 1994. Her heart went to her gravely ill cousin Maxie, as the character remembered her Uncle Tony laying on her chest while listening to his late daughter’s heart beat in a living child.
About Brighton Hertford Today
Hertford was only eight years old when she played her last scene as BJ but she’s kept busy as a performer over the last 30 years. As a child, she had a role in The Parent Trap with Lindsey Lohan with her last role being in the film short Clean Blood in 1998, according to IMDB. She also earned a BFA in acting from Brigham Young University.
When Hertford and Kirsten Storms’ Maxie were seen next to one another outside Kelly’s with Felicia, fans who made the connection quickly welled up with tears as we saw Maxie and BJ together again after all these years. Hertford will continue her role as Angela Brighton for at least one more episode as she interviews the citizens of Port Charles about their memories of Bobbie.
