Opinions are like…well…you know. Everybody’s got one…or three. And General Hospital fans are certainly full of them in light of Holly’s (Emma Samms) back-to-back blindsides that she’s Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) mother and that Robert (Tristan Rogers) is her father!

During a recent chat with Soap Opera Digest, Samms made it clear that she was relishing the furor that the twists have unleashed:
“So many people really wanted Robert and Holly to have had a child. And so there are some people that are going to be pleased; there are some that are going to be sad that they have a child but it’s not Ethan. There are some people who don’t care [laughs]. I mean, everybody’s got an opinion, and that’s what we do it for. We do it for people to take a side, to have an opinion, to feel invested. So I welcome all of that, and I think Tristan and I were really, really pleased that we have a story that’s got so much to it.”
Samms also granted that, despite being taken aback by the plot, she’s thrilling to the inevitably juicy fallout. “I mean, that’s what you want when you’re on a show like this, is to have a story that’s got everyone talking, whether it’s good talk or not. That’s what you want: to be given something, an issue, that’s so problematic but also so pregnant with such potential.”
What are your thoughts on Holly’s bombshells, and do you believe that all is as it seems? After all, Ms. Sutton does have a precarious relationship with the truth.
