Despite all appearances to the contrary (given his alter-ego’s dirty, dingy look) it took a village to get Jonathan Jackson ready for his long-anticipated return to General Hospital.

The ABC sudser offered three snaps showing a bevy of personnel gussying the actor up (down?) before the cameras started rolling. The accompanying caption reads in part: “Lucky’s looking a little worse for wear (thanks to our award-winning hair and makeup teams).”

GH stalwart Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) mused in the comments: “It’s so cool how makeup and hair and costume add to an actor’s experience.”
A plethora of fans also used the section to issue congratulations to the actor, praise his work thus far, and wish him nothing but success during his reprisal. Cindi Ekberg perhaps summed it up best when she wrote: “Jonathan didn’t skip a beat in his portrayal of Lucky!! Welcome home!!!!!”
