General Hospital fans were stunned on the December 18, 2023, episode when Josslyn Jacks had a brand-new face. Actress Courtney Fulk is now in the role and fans need to get used to seeing her — at least for a little while.
Eden McCoy’s GH Absence
No explanation has been given for the recast, but the timing meshes with when McCoy lost her mother about six weeks ago. That would coincide with when this month’s scenes were likely taped, with the actress taking a well-deserved break to mourn her mom.
On November 6, McCoy posted that her mom had been suffering from cancer for more than two years and had just succumbed to the disease. It was the first time she spoke publicly about her mother’s illness.
The actress won her first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Performer on December 15 and dedicated the award to her mom, both in her acceptance speech and on Instagram, writing: “I just want to say thank you for the best 8 years to my General Hospital family….thank you for letting me be a tiny FRACTION of your incredible legacy. For you mommy!!!”
Meet The New Josslyn
According to TV Line, Fulk will be seen in the role of Josslyn through February, with McCoy returning to the set next month after the show’s typical holiday break. Fulk, a daytime newcomer whose previous credits include the TV films Killer Cheer Mom and Student Seduction.
Fulk made her debut in light-hearted scenes with Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s Spencer and Tabyana Ali’s Trina. Josslyn is currently involved in a romance with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) while trying to help troubled classmate Adam (Joshua Benard).
