Today’s General Hospital recap for November 8, 2023, has Sonny stunning Ava, Drew surprising Michael, Neddie going for broke, and so much more.
Ava Learns To Connect The Dots
Ava (Maura West) stopped by Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) place to talk about finding Nikolas (Adam Huss), but didn’t get far. Sonny informed her that she was in bed with the enemy and didn’t even know it. Ava was stunned to learn that Austin (Roger Howarth) played a part in her kidnapping.
Ava insisted that Austin was not involved and that Mason (Nathanyael Grey) was just following orders from his boss. That’s when Sonny informed her that Austin and Mason’s boss was Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Sonny explained how he came to that conclusion and Ava had to believe him.
Ava wanted to believe Austin only testified on Cyrus’ behalf to protect her, but Sonny pointed out that he was still lying to her — or at the very least omitting a lot of truths. After Ava went over everything that happened with Austin since she clocked Nikolas over the head, she realized Sonny was right.
Meanwhile, Chase (Josh Swickard) tracked down Austin at GH to ask him some questions about Mason. Austin tried to dodge the questions and claimed that he and Mason were not close. After all, Austin was a doctor and Mason was a criminal, so what did they have in common?
Chase’s next stop was Mason’s room. Austin watched through the window as Mason answered, but the audience didn’t hear what he said. Later, Austin paid a visit to Mason and Chase saw them chatting through the window.
A Dilemma For Michael
Michael (Chad Duell) was shocked when he walked into his Aurora office and saw Carly (Laura Wright) standing there with Drew (Cameron Mathison). Michael praised Carly for having Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) blackmail Judge Kim. She was a warrior for him and it didn’t matter what she had to do to set Drew free.
Still, Carly needed to know who turned her and Drew in to begin with and wasn’t going to rest until she had a straight answer. Drew insisted it had to be Ned (Wally Kurth) because apparently, he didn’t have time to come up with a new suspect since spring. Michael asked what they would think if they knew it wasn’t Ned at all.
This got Carly and Drew’s attention, but Michael still didn’t tell them who it was. If he did, he wouldn’t have anything to blackmail Nina (Cynthia Watros) with. He just suggested that Carly was the target and Drew ended up being collateral damage. However, Drew just wanted to leave the whole thing behind them. He was free and that was all that mattered.
Tracy’s Leaving Again
Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) was surprised when she saw Yuri putting Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) luggage in her car. Tracy explained that she was going to take care of something she should have done a while ago. She was headed to Amsterdam where Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) would help her sort Luke’s (Tony Geary) affairs.
Tracy asked Olivia to try to restore normalcy to the Q house while she was gone, meaning try to get Ned back and banish Neddie. Tracy was sick of it all and found Neddie’s issues to be depressing. She wanted her son to talk to a mental health professional, but Olivia just wanted him to focus on his music. She also warned Olivia to watch out for Lois (Rena Sofer) because she didn’t trust her.
Brook Lynn walked in on the whole thing and was the next one to argue with Granny Tracy. After BLQ learned where Tracy was going, she was sympathetic and even listened to her as Tracy tried to convince her to accept the gift of Deception. But BLQ wanted to focus on her music.
Tracy was shocked when Lois interrupted them and told her daughter not to be so quick to turn down her grandmother’s offer. Neither woman knew that Brook Lynn had already visited Deception that day and made up with Maxie (Kirsten Storms).
Neddie’s Leap Of Faith
Neddie continued his songwriting endeavor in the solarium with Lois watching. He was frustrated so she advised him to take a break. Still, he couldn’t do it. he knew he was so close to finishing this song and had to keep going.
Lois tried to encourage him so she told him all about a last-minute song he once wrote that got lots of college airplay. He liked learning about Eddie Maine but Lois wanted him to learn about Ned Quartermaine. She was also willing to help him with his music by asking him where he wanted to go and what he was afraid of. It turned out his biggest fear was never finding the girl in his song.
Lois convinced Neddie that he had to just take a leap of faith, which prompted him to go to the boathouse to finish his song. When Olivia and Lois had a chat about Neddie, Lois sent her old Brooklyn pal to go lift his spirits.
Alone at the boat house, Neddie started remembering another performance from the past. He then stood up on a stone wall and took a literal leap of faith right into the water, which is kinda-sorta how he lost his memory to begin with. Olivia was horrified when she arrived at the boathouse and realized Eddie jumped.
