General Hospital spoilers for for January 2, 2024, promise a shocking start to the new year as Carly gets news she never expected to hear — and so does Sonny.

Meanwhile, Lois opens her big mouth and tells Sonny she knows who really turned in Carly and Drew to the SEC. GH spoilers say that Sonny confronts his son and Michael is forced to confess some harsh truths that Sonny never thought he would hear about people he loves.
Elsewhere at The Savoy, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) is absolutely furious with Lois (Rena Sofer). She was told to leave well enough alone and keep her mouth shut, but Lois had to spill the beans to Sonny. After all, he is her lifelong friend, but so is Olivia.
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) remains oblivious to any problems with her husband and father-in-law and goes to Nina (Cynthia Watros) for help. How will she react when she learns what Nina did — and what Michael is doing?
Carly’s In A State Of Shock
The new year begins with a bang in Port Charles as Carly (Laura Wright) gets life-altering news. While the secret that Nina (Cynthia Watros) tipped off the SEC about Carly and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) insider trading mess seems to be at the forefront, Carly will have more things to worry about than that.
It looks like she hears that her mother died in Amsterdam. We know that Jacklyn Zeman’s death is finally written into the show and Bobbie’s memorial service will be on January 10th and 11th. Learning her mother died will change Carly forever. It’s heartbreaking news that will change her entire outlook on life.
Sam’s Big Dilemma
Sam (Kelly Monaco) remains perplexed over Drew’s new attitude and especially his approach to parenting. First, he thought Donna needed Carly more than Scout needed him and allowed himself to go to prison for months. Now, he insists that Scout goes to a private boarding school she doesn’t want to attend.
Sam is not quite sure how to approach Drew about this problem and wonders how they will handle co-parenting in the future. She also has to handle her daughter who is down in the dumps about starting at a new school.
