But first! How did the gentlemen spend their 4th of July? Answer: Fireworks and pontoon boats and swimming. How wholesome; how American!

Now, on to GH… First up, a discourse on “Young Willow” and “Old Drew” creating their own fireworks. The two consider the age difference, Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) status as a very married lady, the ramifications should Nina (Cynthia Watros) become privy to the lip lock — as Anderson pointedly points out, “Nina’s not someone you want to mess with.” — and whether or not this is in keeping with Willow and Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) character.

Offered Burton: “Look, they always end up justifying that stuff. ‘It’s because it’s a soap opera’ and whatever. Things happen, right? We know this. But, usually, somebody’s drinking, usually, there’s a precursor. Usually, someone’s mad, or maybe Willow found Michael in a suspicious situation so she ran to Drew angry…” In the end, he’s all for the tawdry twist. And why? Because…”It’s drama!”

As for the continued, fervent hope amongst fans that Dex (Evan Hofer) will turn out to be Jason’s son, Stone Cold’s portrayer mused: “If I’m a writer…if I’m one of the writers…Wouldn’t you wanna just rebuild these relationships that already have such a rich history already right there…? With Dex, it’s creating a backstory and a history…I just don’t think it’s going to happen…Evan’s awesome but doesn’t see that being the case…”

The dynamic duo also pondered a potential “Liason” reunion, the new wrinkle that is Lucky’s (Jonathan Jackson) imminent return, and learn exactly which of Liz’s offspring was fathered by the errant Spencer. In addition, Burton learned a new phrase and Anderson pondered what he’d like to see in Spinelli’s near future.
