Poor Lucy is a teen suffering immense heartbreak on The Young and the Restless. Heather was the only mother she had ever known and she loved her deeply. She was her best friend, her idol, and her constant. Now, she’s gone and Lucy may lose her dad too if he goes to jail. Picture this, if you will….Heather’s (Vail Bloom) shocking murder is newsworthy, for sure. It’s not every day something like this happens in Genoa City (it’s more like a yearly thing). There’s no doubt it will be all over the papers, the internet, and on TV. Somewhere along the line, it would have to hit Daisy’s ears, right?
Daisy (played by Yvonne Zima) has done a darn good job of staying out of Lucy’s (Lily Brooks O’Briant) life all these years (does the child even know who she is?). Heck, she even tried to sell the kid to Billy (then, Billy Miller) she was born. She never really wanted her at all. She’s laid super low and let Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Heather do as they please and live their happy little life.

Bad Mommy Plays Hero
Will that change when Daisy hears Heather was killed and Daniel is the prime suspect? Now, that would give anyone a change of heart. She can’t have her very own flesh and blood out there in the world virtually alone. Someone needs to step in so it may as well be her, right?
We can see it all going down. Lucy goes through the motions of burying her mother and watching her father get carted off in cuffs. It’s all just too much to deal with so she does the only thing she knows to do to help the pain, she picks up the bottle. She gets blackout drunk in the park and is found by a mysterious woman.
This kind soul picks her up, brushes her off, and takes her home to sleep. When Lucy wakes up, her whole world changes when Daisy lets her know who she really is. She’s not a kind stranger. She’s her real mother! And, she’s here to stay.
