After defying her family and marrying Tucker McCall in the Chancellor living room, The Young and the Restless newlyweds Tucker and Ashley embarked on a Parisian honeymoon — and things didn’t work out quite as planned.
A Y&R Honeymoon Gone Bust
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) were concerned and confused when Tucker (Trevor St. John) returned from his honeymoon without his new wife. Abby demanded to know where her mother was, but she soon called to say she was ok. A few weeks later, Ashley returned to Genoa City and declared her marriage over. Eventually, she revealed to Mamie (Veronica Redd) that she and Tucker had a blowout fight in which he lost his temper in a way she had never seen before.
However, Ashley still seemed concerned for Tucker and was determined he would still have a relationship with his son, Devon. She was also hesitant to go ahead with Jack’s (Peter Bergman) plan to bring down Tucker and wanted to do things her way, seemingly with the intention of not hurting him as much as her brother wanted.
When Ashley and Tucker finally had it out over what happened in Paris, we learned they both had a very different version of the events at a sidewalk restaurant.
Who’s Right? Ashley Or Tucker?
Tucker was stunned when Ashley alluded to him becoming purposely violent during their fight. She remembered him angrily knocking over a chair and some wine glasses, but Tucker remembered lightly hitting the chair so it moved a little and accidentally knocking over the glasses. In Tucker’s version of the story, everything happened in a much less forceful manner. Too bad Ashley still sees a very angry man who seemed to want to hurt her.
So, which one is right? Is Tucker in complete denial of his actions because he’s horrified by what he did or is Ashley remembering something innocent as something much more sinister? Ashley has a history of mental illness and even began questioning her own sanity and memories with Jack, who insisted that Tucker had to be gaslighting his sister.
Is Y&R about to do another mental health story with Ashley at the forefront or is Tucker really as dangerous as Ashley remembers? If he is, why would she then want to help him?
