Thanks to Billy’s (Jason Thompson) drunken carryings-on, Adam (Mark Grossman) spent Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless trying to explain his dalliance with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) to a distraught Sally (Courtney Hope) — and while there was no fun to be seen on screen, Hope, hopes that fans enjoyed the scenes as much as she and her costars enjoyed filming them.
Courtney Hope Talks Sally Quagmire
The actress effused to SoapsInDepth: “I know we were all eagerly awaiting, ‘How’s it going to come out?’ All four of us, we were constantly asking each other, ‘Do you know anything?’ Because we only get scripts so far ahead. So when it did come out, it was really exciting to work with everyone and see it come to a head. So I hope the fans enjoy it as well.”
As for whether or not Sally might bring herself to forgive Adam his trespass (not forgetting the fling that that the two of them had behind Nicholas’ [Joshua Morrow] back way back when), Courtney Hope mused: “More than anything, Sally’s grown into a place where she really values and respects herself. Especially after everything that happened with Ava. What is she worth and what is she going to allow into her life? So there’s a lot of layers to it and I think she’s navigating it, but this is definitely something that could potentially be unforgivable in Sally’s eyes, especially the lie.
“I think if he would’ve said something early on, maybe she would’ve been hurt, but maybe she would’ve found her way through it. But after he doubled down and then pretty much tripled down; she’s asked him three times and he blatantly said no, I think he really potentially nailed the coffin, which is unfortunate for her. I feel bad for Sally.” (As do the fans Ms. Hope. As do the fans!)
