The still-raging California wildfires have claimed yet more homes, including ones owned by Eric Braeden (Victor Newman, The Young and the Restless), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), and Jessica Serfaty (ex-Sloan Petersen, Days of our Lives).

During a sitdown with Local 3 News, Braeden revealed that he’d learned of his property’s fate from play son, Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman). [He] actually broke through some barriers went there, and sent me the [images]. Yeah. Tough to see…
“Lived there for 45 years. It’s your home. You think you’re tough, and then you see that…[I] haven’t shown my wife yet. I don’t know whether I’m going to or not. It’s tough.”
The actor conceded that “a house can be rebuilt,” and mused: ” came here in 1960. I lived in that whole area of LA for the last 60 years, nearly…and have seen all kinds of wildfires, all kinds of disasters and [land]slides. It’s the price we pay for living in this beautiful area. California’s a fantastic state.”
Meanwhile, Egan, Braeden’s costar, shared on Instagram Stories that the fire had claimed a recently acquired house that she and her family were readying to occupy. In the post she assured fans that all was well with her brood (she and hubby Matt Katrosar have two sons, Caden and Jake) and detailed: “We just bought a house in the Palisades 2 weeks ago that’s now destroyed. We hadn’t moved in yet but it’s gone. We are just grateful our babies are safe, but we are devastated and this is all so horrific. Grateful to all the incredible first responders.”
Serfaty, an alum of DAYS, shared before and after photos of her now smoldering domicile. She added in the caption: “My heart burns along with the city for everyone who’s lost their homes, memories, a part of their lives to the wildfires.”
