The Young and the Restless has huge plans to celebrate their 13000th episode. Not only will that be the day the Winters family officially connects with the Newmans for the first, they revamping one of the most prominent sets – the Newman Ranch.
The Young and the Restless Goes Back to Basics
The last time the set was redone was back in 2012 when Sharon burned the home to the ground. While it was a terrible move on her part, it did give a good chance for the refresh of Victor and Nikki’s not-so-humble abode. The couple got a lovely upgrade then, and it sounds like they are getting an even better one now…by going back to the beginning.
As the story goes, Victor (Eric Braeden) has promised Abby (Melissa Ordway) the wedding of her dreams. What better way for her to officially start her life with Devon (Bryton James) than her daddy dropping a boatload of money to make the family home wedding ready? And, by wedding ready, we mean restoring the home to its former pre-fire glory.

An Emotional Reaction
Deadline was treated to a first-hand look at the incredible set – and to Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott seeing it all back together for the first time in over a decade. In the clip, Braeden tears up seeing his old stomping ground back in one piece. You can watch the video here.
Is this change permanent? It sure looks like it. Showrunner Josh Griffith is all for rekindling the show’s former glory. ““We’ve discussed bringing the set back for many years, and decided that its return around Y&R’s 13,000th episode would be perfect timing to help celebrate this incredible milestone as well as the legacy of Victor and Nikki,” Griffith told Deadline. “I must give special thanks to Y&R’s art department and stage crew who went above and beyond in executing the return of one of Y&R’s most iconic sets.”
Fans will be treated to their first look on November 8th with the show’s milestone episode airing on November 13th. Will the Ranch set be the only surprise? Oh, we’re sure there is a lot more to come!
