The soap world mourned when The Young and the Restless‘ Kristoff St. John passed away from heart disease at a scant 52 in February 2019. Now, a new documentary about the late, great, much-beloved but troubled actor is set for a 2025 premiere.

The Story Of Kristoff St. John

Hailing from Bobby Razak, Kristoff will chronicle St. John’s career, from his early work in the likes of Roots: The Next Generation and The Bad News Bears, to his storied tenure at Y&R for which he deservedly earned two Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as his life-long struggle with substance abuse, the sexual assault perpetrated against him when he was a child, and the tragic loss of his firstborn to suicide.

Among the many to speak in the chronicle are St. John’s first wife, boxer Mia St. John, and Kristoff himself via archived clips/soundbites.

In the preview for Kristoff, which you can view in full here, Mia confides, “What most people didn’t know about Kristoff was that he was bipolar. He was suffering from a mental illness.”

In the final frames, Kristoff observes, “It’s almost as if we invite the madness and enjoy the pain.”
