McKenna Grace, who temped as The Young and the Restless’s Faith Newman in between Alyvia Alyn Lind’s stints, is set to star in, and executive produce, Straight Lies, a psychological thriller hailing from Mandalay Pictures. Alex Kalymnios is set to direct the film from a script by Ren Trella. Deadline was the first to report.

Inspired by true events from Trella’s teenhood, Straight Lies concerns, “a teen girl falsely accused of drug use is held against her will and must escape a cult-like drug rehab that is backed by the US Government, while her covert CIA agent father becomes so lost in political influence that he is unaware of the danger his daughter is in.”
Grace told Deadline, “I am so honored to bring this compelling story to the screen. After speaking with our amazing writer Ren and hearing her true story of what she endured and based the script, I knew this was going to be a heartbreaking, but necessary project to make.”
In addition to her turn on Y&R, Grace has appeared in series such as The Handmaid’s Tale (for which she snagged a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series category) and big screen features Gifted, Malignant, Captain Marvel, Anabelle Comes Home, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife among others.
Fans can catch her reprising her role as Phoebe Spengler in the much-anticipated Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire alongside fellow returnees Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and Finn Wolfhard as well as franchise veterans Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts.
Production on Straight Lies is slated to begin this summer in North Carolina.
