During Saturday night broadcast of the Los Angeles Kings vs Dallas Stars hockey bout, the Kings paid tribute to Ed Lee, an off-ice official for the National Hockey League who covered the team, and stepfather to The Young and the Restless star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers).
Michelle Stafford Thanks The Los Angeles Kings
Lee, who passed away the night previous, was remembered as a “great guy, a wonderful soul,” and the Kings sent their condolences to “Ed’s wife, Paulette, his family, and many, many friends.”
Michelle took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a recording of the memorial alongside the caption, “Thank from the bottom of my heart to the @LAKings for dedicating the game last night to my Step father. I am truly beyond touched.”

The actress also reposted a message posted by the L.A. Kings official X account that read, “The LA Kings honor the memory of Ed Lee who passed away Friday night. Ed was a member of the League’s Off-Ice Officials Crew in LA for more than 40 years. We remember Ed for his incredible kindness, professionalism and humor, and his commitment to the game of hockey.”
