This week’s The Young and the Restless recap for the week of August 16th, 2024 featured Summer and Kyle battling it out, Chelsea slipping up, Sharon getting worse, and so much more!
The Young and the Restless Recaps
Monday, August 12th
Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Allison Lanier) met to work out their issues. It went well at first but quickly fell apart when Summer demanded Kyle cut all ties with Audra (Zuleyka Silver). Kyle balked at the ultimatum and threatened to call his lawyer…the two are still at war. At the same time, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) met with Diane (Susan Walter) and the pair had it out over who was the worst mother.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) met up with Billy (Jason Thompson) and he noticed the distance between them. She changed the subject to his work and Billy shared his plans to step back for the sake of the company. Meanwhile, over at Newman, Victor (Eric Braeden) issued new orders to Adam: take down Billy at all costs. Afterward, Sally (Courtney Hope) showed up and noticed something was off with her man.
Victor hit up the club for lunch. He wasn’t alone long before Michael (Christian LeBlanc) joined him and asked what he could do to make things right. Victor had only one answer…dig up dirt on Billy-Boy Abbott.
Tuesday, August 13th
Jack (Peter Bergman) got in some good grandpa time by taking Harrison to the park. They weren’t along long, though, before Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) showed up and hyped up Summer (Allison Lanier) a little too much. Jack’s feathers were rightfully ruffled.
Claire (Hayley Erin), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) dined at Society while catching up. Claire admitted she adores Harrison but not the drama. Nikki invited her back to the office but Claire wasn’t leaving her charge. Later, Nikki and Victoria gossiped about Claire getting close to Kyle.
Claire and Jack had a good talk about the tension in the house. Jack agreed it was too much. Soon after, Harrison came down asking Claire why his parents were so mad at him.
Meanwhile, Billy (Jason Thompson) and Lily (Christel Khalil) had it out at the office. She outright called him delusional and threatened to walk. She stormed off to The Club where she was promptly griped at by Phyllis. As for Billy, he got an earful from Jack.
Wednesday, August 14th
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Claire wasn’t ready to be part of the family business but she WAS ready to take on the family last name. This pleased Victoria, Nikki, and Victor to no end.
Jack took issue with Billy using the Abbott name…because it’s NOT Jill’s last name and hasn’t been for decades. Billy ignored Jack and flipped the subject to Kyle. They both agreed Kyle needed to fall on his face if there was any hope of getting his ego in check.
Kyle didn’t have the only ego needing checking. Chance (Conner Flyod) gently suggested Summer put her ego aside and do what’s best for Harrison. And, what’s best is getting along with Kyle and putting their son first. Later, she cornered Claire and asked about Kyle’s personal life.
Traci (Beth Maitland) arrived home with Alan (Christopher Cousins). They ran right over to Society for dinner with the family. They gave an update on Ashley (Eileen Davidson). She could be home as early as the end of summer. Bad news, Traci’s book isn’t making it to the big screen – she backed out.
Thursday, August 15th
Faith (Reylynn Caster) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) were concerned after hearing Sharon cancel her getaway plans. They tried to reason with her but she had a tantrum that shocked them both. What they didn’t know was she was hallucinating Cameron being in the room and practically commanding her every move.
Lucky for Sharon, Nick (Joshua Morrow) turned up. He was there to talk to Faith after getting the lowdown on Lucy’s antics from Daniel. They all agreed it would be best if Faith limited contact…and they also convinced Sharon to rebook her vacation. As for Daniel, he met up with Heather (Vail Bloom) to discuss their sullen teenager.
Billy and Sally met at Society and she tried to put his mind at ease. Billy couldn’t shake the feeling Adam and Chelsea weren’t telling them everything. He was right. As for the former couple, they were at the park with Connor (Judah Mackey) and all was going well. After the kid took off to play they discussed that “one night.” Little did they know, Billy and Sally got there just in time to hear them.
Friday, August 16th
Adam and Chelsea took to Crimson Lights to discuss damage control while Sally and Bill stewed over the “one-night” statement. Eventually, Billy was done wondering and decided to get answers. He got to the coffee shop, asked to speak to Chelsea alone, and demanded answers. As for Adam, he went home and got the cold shoulder.
Victor called Kyle and Audra to the office to discuss this mess with Summer. Audra maintained she had no idea Summer had a problem with her. After much talk, Victor dismissed her and issued a warning to Kyle to play nice with both ladies…or else!
At the same time, Summer was at Society chatting with her mom. She was tired of the war, tired of Audra, and tired of all the animosity. Phyllis wasn’t much help…but she did ask Victor to help when she caught him alone later.
