This week’s The Young and the Restless recap for the week of July 15th featured Sharon struggling, Kyle and Summer fighting, and Chelsea and Adam feeling the weight of their affair.
The Young and the Restless Recap
Monday, July 15th
Kyle (Michael Mealor) headed to Newman Enterprises to confront Victor (Eric Braeden). No, not about business. He wanted to know why The Mustache didn’t want him to get close to Claire (Hayley Erin). The answer: Because he said so. With the brewing Abbott war, Victor is simply protecting his family.
Speaking of Claire, Summer (Allison Lanier) was jealous of how much Harrison (Redding Munsell) likes her. She held it together but barely. Later, she and Kyle got into it about who is the better parent.
As for Claire, she went to see her family at Crimson Lights and ended up making headway with Katie (Sienna Mercuri). The sisters are now sistering well. However, Katie still didn’t like Cole (J. Eddie Peck) being around. He’s her new target.
Over at Society, Mariah (Camryn Grimes), Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), and Nick (Joshua Morrow) worried about Sharon (Sharon Case). They were right to be panicky. Just before they got to her house she had woken up for a nightmare. She was disheveled, the house was a mess, and the trio were more than a little concerned.
Tuesday, July 16th
Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) met up to talk about Connor (Judah Mackey)…and their affair…and their guilt…and him becoming his daddy’s puppet again. Later, Chelsea turned to Sharon for advice.
Also talking about being Victor’s pawn was Victoria (Amelia Heinle). She told Nick she was, in fact, coming back and how she felt about it. Quite frankly, she didn’t have the energy to fight their dad anymore. They were both quite upset about Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) being ousted, though. At the same time, Adam accepted Victor’s job offer…with conditions.
Meanwhile, Victor raised Nate’s (Sean Dominic) alarms when he congratulated Audra (Zuleyka Silver). Nate assumed Victor was the mystery investor. Audra tried her best to charm that thought right out of Nate’s head.
Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack (Peter Bergman) had it out with Kyle about him working at Glissade. He promptly pointed out that wouldn’t be the case if they hadn’t fired him. Oops. Big mistake mom and dad. Once they got to Jabot, Jack and Diane hoped their son would calm down and love them again one day.
Wednesday, July 17th
Adam and Sally (Courtney Hope) had a bit of a tiff in the morning when she took issue with his new job. Adam whined to Chelsea about the whole fight while Sally leaned on Audra.
Also on this episode of The Young and the Restless, Heather announced she was going to visit Paul in Portugal, much to Lucy’s () dismay. She couldn’t imagine leaving, especially now that she could all but stalk Faith (Reylynn Caster) all summer. Thankfully, everyone agreed Lucy would stay with Daniel, who didn’t care to take flight, either.
Summer’s bid for custody had Kyle seeing red. He threatened to take Harrison…and Claire…with him to Paris. How would you like that, Summer? This prompted Summer to start seriously house hunting…and scheming with her mother (who spent her morning making nice with Faith). Kyle went home and invited Claire to join him on the trip.
Thursday, July 18th
Over at Crimson Lights, Nick, Victoria, and Nikki complained about Adam taking her job. Well, Nikki wasn’t about to take this lying down. At the same time, Adam checked into the office and jumped in with both feet. Later, Sally stopped by to apologize for overstepping. Afterward, Nikki came to issue a warning to her stepson.
Summer and Phyllis continued planning their attack. She may not be Harrison’s biological mother but she’s mommy in every sense of the word. They decided to let Kyle blow up his life and for Summer to be the stable parent who would then sling dirt in court. Nick later joined them and put in his two cents.
As for Kyle, he hyped Harrison up about Paris…but was not pleased to hear Claire had reservations. She didn’t want to go and upset Summer. The best she could do was think about it and give him an answer later.
Friday, July 19th
The Young and the Restless ended the week with Victoria encouraging Claire to go on the trip with Kyle. Claire admitted she may have feelings for Kyle, but she wasn’t sure. He’s her friend, her boss, and she didn’t want more…but she felt like it was more. In the end, she decided to take the chance and go to the city of love.
Phyllis and Nick decided to lunch together but were interrupted by Sharon who wasn’t acting like herself. Phyllis took immediate notice. Nick agreed. Sharon eventually joined them and things were tense, at best.
Chance (Conner Floyd) updated Summer that the Chancellor-Winters split is almost final…and that he thought it was a disastrous move for his family company. He wasn’t sure if he would even stay.
Billy (Jason Thompson) ran into Chelsea at the park and she was beside herself with guilt. She cried about being such a mess…but refused to actually tell him the truth. Instead, she kissed him and rushed off for a meeting.
