Today’s The Young and the Restless recap for December 20, 2023, details Jack’s gift to Kyle, Tucker’s desire to give gifts, and Summer’s warning for Phyllis.
Kyle’s Dreams Come True
Traci (Beth Maitland), Jack (Peter Bergman), Diane (Susan Walters), Kyle (Michael Mealor), and Harrison all got into the holiday spirit by trimming the Abbott Christmas tree. Harrison even made sure that Jack and Diane kissed under the mistletoe. Traci even gave a speech about love and the holidays to satisfy our sweet tooth.
Too bad Kyle was distracted by a text from Tucker (Trevor St. John) looking for that promised Jabot info. Jack and Kyle had their plan ready — give Tucker an old Jabot formula and then nail him for corporate theft. Jack was so impressed with Kyle learning what Tucker was up to that he offered Kyle the Jabot co-CEO position.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) met up with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) for lunch at the GCAC to discuss Christmas gifts. Dominic would have plenty and Ashley would join them but wanted to know if they’d contacted Tucker. Abby assured her that she they not, so Ashley just wanted to be informed if they did so she knew to avoid him.
Once they were alone, Ashley informed Abby that she and Jack had the perfect plan to bring down Tucker — just like everyone else. Ashley at least promised Abby that she and Tucker were over for good.
More Tucker Talk
Tucker seemed to be in a chipper mood as he opened a package full of Christmas presents meant for Dominic. When he ran into Devon and was told he wasn’t invited for the holidays, Tucker mentioned his bag of toys for the baby, so Devon gave his father permission to drop the toys off.
Nate (Sean Dominic) and Mamie (Veronic Redd) visited the Chancellor-Winters office where she gave him a pep talk about his new job. Yes, he was there on a trial basis but Mamie was sure it would become permanent. Nate has learned his lesson and knows his priorities now. He just wanted to know if Mamie had any more surprises in store.
Mamie promised she had no more secrets and would not be working with Tucker anymore. All she wanted was to get Jill (Jess Walton) out of the company. When Billy (Jason Thompson) heard her say that, he assured her that wouldn’t happen. He was now going to be co-CEO with Devon, as per Jill’s wishes.
Billy was shocked that Devon and Lily even hired Nate back after what happened at Newman Enterprises. Mamie tried to play mediator, but Billy warned her that he’d be keeping an eye on her to make sure she wasn’t still aligned with Tucker.
Catching Up With Phyllis And Summer
Summer (Allison Lanier) and Chance (Conner Floyd) apparently had a great time at the concert. We even got to see CGI flashbacks of it as they discussed the night over a meal at Society. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) happened by and liked what she saw.
When Chance left, Summer assured her mother their ‘date’ was a one-time friend thing, but Phyllis encouraged Summer to go for more. Summer didn’t want to talk about it. She was just sad that she wasn’t going to be with Harrison for Christmas.
The subject soon turned to Phyllis, who admitted she was considering Tucker’s job offer. She’d be the head of IT and it was much more appealing than working for Daniel (Michael Graziadei). Phyllis felt it was a pity job anyway and didn’t need a babysitter. Plus, Tucker was willing to pay her a lot more money.
Too bad Phyllis had to put a pause on things when Summer told her she’d never trust her if she worked for Tucker.
