Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is never happier than when his children and grandchildren are at their happiest…as long as he approves of whatever and whomever it is making them happy. And Victor Newman has exacting standards. He also has no trouble in telling his children and grandchildren that they aren’t actually happy but merely assume themselves to be happy — for only The Great and Powerful Victor Newman truly knows true happiness.
Take Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) for example. She thinks that she’s happy with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), but Victor knows better. No one could ever really be happy with an Abbott. Even he couldn’t make things work with Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and she’s not even related to the brood by blood.
And it really chaps Victor’s hide that Claire won’t take heed of his warnings. But he’s got a plan to show her the error of her ways…a machiavellian plan…because he knows no other kind.
