It’s only been a little over a year since legacy character Stephanie Johnson made her way back to Salem and Days of Our Lives, and during that time, we learned she is quite a woman in demand.
Round One For Stephanie: Alex Kiriakis
When Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) first met, it felt like something out of a bad rom-com. The Lothario playboy meets the strong career woman and he is immediately smitten, thinking he found the woman of his dreams. However, that woman thought he was cold and sexist and wanted nothing to do with him.
After some wooing, Stephanie finally broke down and slept with Alex. Stephanie thought they would then embark on a glorious relationship until she learned Alex shut her phone off so she’d never get the call that her mother was in the hospital about to take her last breath. Granted, Alex didn’t know this call would come in and just wanted an uninterrupted night with his girl
The desire for alone time ended things with Stephanie before they even began, but that was ok. Stephanie had someone else waiting in the wings.
Round Two For Stephanie: Chad DiMera
While Alex was wooing Stephanie, she entered into a friendship with new widower Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and became close to his two small children, Thomas and Charlotte. That friendship soon turned into something more and Stephanie decided she was in love.
When Stephanie and Chad decided to move in together and play house with his kids, fans immediately knew it was way too soon after Abigail’s (Marci Miller) death and we were right. Stephanie had marriage on the mind and Chad couldn’t even think about that after just losing his wife to a brutal murder the year before.
By Halloween, they came to blows when Stephanie seemed to resent her dead cousin for still being at the forefront of Chad’s mind. She even seemed to resent Chad for not just forgetting about the woman he shared a life and two kids.
Once again, Stephanie found herself with another breakup before the end of the year, but she still had yet another man waiting in the wings.
Round Three For Stephanie: Everett
Before Stephanie and Chad called it quits, Everett (Blake Berris) was ready and waiting to be with Stephanie again. The man who ghosted her before she moved back to Salem was now in town with a new job as editor of The Spectator. She was still with Chad, so Everett claimed he’d keep his distance, but of course, he didn’t.
Stephanie now believes his tale of getting hit by a car when mailing a letter and not remembering his life or who she was. When his memories returned, he tracked her down in Salem and even claimed he was going to propose to her.
With Stephanie falling for Everett all over again, she has no idea he once used a whole other name and was married to her good friend Jada. Things are about to get real complicated for Stephanie, a woman who might want to consider staying single for a while.
