Sir Anthony Hopkins, fresh off his turn as Sigmund Freud in Sony Pictures Classics’ Freud’s Last Session, has been tapped to star in Eyes in the Trees, a reimagining of H.G. Wells’ oft-adapted novel The Island of Dr. Moreau, from a script by B. Harrison Smith and former Days of our Lives star Mike Manning.
Anthony Hopkins Back In Fine Villain Form
Per Deadline, Hopkins will play, “a geneticist who has been isolated after the government stopped funding his research following the violent outbreak of one of his test subjects. Later, two renowned filmmakers and their crew embark on a journey of discovery, only to find their excursion turned into a fight for survival for not just themselves, but the entire human race.”
Eyes in the Trees will be helmed by prolific filmmaker Timothy Woodward Jr., a Daytime Emmy award winner for his work on the Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe) fronted digital drama series Studio City.
