After bringing Harris Michaels back to the Salem scene in the summer of 2022 on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, Chapter Two, Steve Burton will be exiting the role he first created way back in 1988.
Steve Burton Bids Farewell To Days of Our Lives
After appearing as Navy SEAL Harris Michaels on the DAYS spin-off miniseries, Burton brought the character back to Salem in 2023 and helped Hope (Kristian Alfonso) find her beloved Bo (Peter Reckell). He eventually decided to move back to Salem, where we first met him as Eve Donovan’s (then played by Charlotte Ross) high school boyfriend in the 1980s.
Burton’s signed a one-year contract with the soap and finished taping his last DAYS scenes right before the holidays. Before he left the DAYS set, he recorded a farewell and thank you to fans.
“Well, I just shot my final scenes here on Days of Our Lives and I just wanna say, thank you so much to the cast, to the crew,” Burton said. “It’s been amazing. I can’t believe it’s been a year already. So thank you so much to the fans. It’s just, I’m always so full of gratitude. So thank you. Stay tuned.”
What Happens To Harris Now?
During his current Salem stint, Burton’s Harris has been paired with Tamara’s Braun’s Ava Vitali, rekindling the chemistry they had years ago on General Hospital as Jason Morgan and Carly Corinthos. While Harris and Ava are not an official item at the moment, anything can change.
With DAYS taping more than six months in advance, you’ll still see Harris and Ava’s story play out on screen until at least late spring. So, there’s still plenty of Steve Burton to see in Salem in the coming months.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock starting at 6 AM EST. Remember, you can always find the latest DAYS spoilers, recaps, and news on Facebook at Days of Our Lives Daily. Also, meet fellow fans and talk all things DAYS with our Facebook community group.
