With Violet bidding Port Charles adieu so that she can join Finn in Seattle, Jophielle Love has filmed her last scene on General Hospital — for the time being, at least.
Jophielle Love Leaving GH
The precious and precocious Daytime Emmy Award-nominated actress gushed to Soap Opera Digest that, “My GH family is like a second family to me,” and granted that the slow chipping away of that unit — first Gregory Harrison’s Gregory passed away, then Michael Easton’s alter-ego was shunted off to an offscreen rehab — had taken its toll. “These past few months have been pretty hard. We had a sweet family and everyone disappeared, one after another.”
Love recalled that on her last day in the studio: Wrapping up her stint was bittersweet. On her final day, “I was very sad. It was fun to end it with a tea party, which is Violet’s favorite thing to do. But the long good-byes .… so hard. I think I was already crying before they called, ‘Action!’
“…At the end of the scene, everyone was there. Frank [Valentini, executive producer] had a big bouquet of flowers, Mark [Teschner, casting director] said some nice things about my first audition when I was 4 years old, everyone clapped and gave me hugs. I felt very loved.”
According to the wee thespian (and budding recording artist/lyricist), her tenure at the ABC sudser “pretty much taught me everything about working on a TV set as an actor. This has been the best learning experience. Now I can’t wait to do more.”
And while it remains to be seen what The Powers That Be might (or might not) have in store for her in the future, Love would “100 percent” love to make a return. “I don’t know how or when, but I hope it is not in too long from now. It would be great if I could come back with my dad but as we saw, there is no way of knowing what the story will be. I could be back next year or in 10 years!
“In the meantime, you can see me on Will Trent, and let’s see what other projects I get to work on. I am excited to see what happens. And I just want to say thank you to Frank and everyone at GH for giving me this incredible experience on the show!”
