The plunge that General Hospital’s Spencer and Esme took from the deck of that cruise ship certainly made for a banger of an episode-ending cliffhanger. But while the stunt was no doubt shocking to viewers at home, it was all fun and games for the team.
A Peak Behind The Camera
Yesterday, the Instagram account dedicated to the ABC sudser posted a series of pics showing “how the magic happens” with the accompanying claim, “Tabyana, Avery, and Nicholas (and their stunt doubles) had a lot more fun on that ship than Trina, Esme, and Spencer.” And, if the shot of Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson) and Avery Kristen Pohl (Esme Prince) yucking it up between takes is anything to go by, the caption spoke the truth.
As for the aforementioned stunt doubles, a scroll through the photos shows each actor posing with the professional who undertook the more daring action — like the actual tumble from the set down onto that cushioned material.
Spencer and Esme’s disappearance into the ocean serves to (temporarily) usher the former’s portrayer, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, off the canvas so that he can begin work on the second season of the anthology series Monster, titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
