Hope can’t seem to catch a break on The Bold and the Beautiful. She fell head over heels in love with Liam, but his heart is forever divided. She married Wyatt…but he wasn’t Liam. She tried her hand with Oliver, but he slept with her mother. She even tried dating the man who spent years manipulating her, but that wasn’t right either. Now, she’s obsessing over Steffy’s husband, and, well, we’ve seen how that’s gone. Not well.

All The Very Bold Reasons Why…

How can it be that someone is so sweet, successful, compassionate, and beautiful be chronically unlucky in love? Could it be that Hope doesn’t actually want love. Has her years upon years of watching her mother and aunts throw their dignity away for the sake of a man has scarred her?

A fear of commitment would make sense considering how unstable Hope’s life was growing up. Her mother bounced between men (and we LOVE her for it!), her dad was either absent or playing games with her mother, sister, and any other woman he came across. Did this lack of stability cause Hope to feel like love just isn’t worth it since nothing seems to last?

Of course, this could also be a self-esteem issue, and we can’t blame her for that either. Decades of having men play her and Steffy against each other (looking at you, especially, Liam) surely took a toll. How can Hope feel good in her skin when the fellas she adores are constantly eyeing up other women? That would cause any gal to break.

Hope even managed to ruin things with the one guy who loved her and only her. Yes, we do understand she wanted to take things slow and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) moved at lightening speed and she wasn’t ready for marriage. Would it have hurt her to wear his ring, though? What is the REAL reason she wouldn’t slip it on her finger?

What we want for Hope more than anything is to find her soulmate and live a happy life. Will that man be Liam? Is it Thomas? Perhaps the good people at B&B can offer Hope the same grace as Steffy and give her a new guy of her very own. Alas, what’s the drama in that, though?
