Laneya Grace is already on The Bold and the Beautiful set and taping her scenes. On October 22nd, fans will finally get their first meeting with Electra Forrester! A new addition to the family is sure to be fun for everyone!

Laneya Grace On Becoming Electra

In the lead up to her daytime debut, Laneya Grace sat down with TV Insider to talk about coming onto the show and what the transition from university student to the soap universe has meant for her. “I sent in a self-tape and my manager called me and said, ‘Hey, they want to see you in LA to do this callback,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, It’s my first day of school. I guess I could do that.’ So, I ended up skipping my first day of school,” she dishes. “I got the call saying, ‘Hey, you got the role,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is insane.’”

Landing the role was just the start of the journey.”A week before I started, I got a tour of the building and the studio. I got to meet a bunch of the actors and the crew and the makeup and hair artists and all that. And then, on my first day, I ended up finding my dressing room by the grace of God; I did not get lost.” We can only imagine with how big the CBS set is!

As for taping, well, that’s when she truly hit her stride. “I was so nervous,” she tells the publication. “I knew that I knew all of my lines and I got up there and I was like, ‘Are they gonna leave my brain?’ I did end up remembering all of them and the nerves went away so quickly.”

When it comes to being Electra, Laneya has the unique opportunity to cultivate the character to her liking seeing as how she’s not a recast. “She knows what she wants and she wants to take it and I love her,” the actress boasts. “She’s maybe got a little bit of a path that we might find out about later. But she’s definitely very, very excited to be in Los Angeles.”

A Bold New Beginning?

One juicy tidbit Grace dropped is she’ll appear in quite a few scenes opposite Crew Morrow. Is this the foreshadowing of another Forrester & Spencer pairing? While she didn’t tease much, she did say Morrow is one of her first actor friends on the show. “He’s also really, really sweet and has been very comforting to me. It was nice to come in my first day and have a familiar face, because I met him when I came to LA the first time, and we had lunch together before I started filming.”

We can’t wait to see what drama Electra brings when she and Ashleigh Brewer’s Ivy Forrester breeze into L.A. and start mixing and mingling with the Forrester, Spencers, and Logans!
