It came as a shock to daytime fans to learn Rebecca Budig joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful. It doesn’t shock fans that mere hours after Dr. Taylor Hayes got back to Los Angeles that she’s beefing with Brooke. The long-term explosive rivalry is heating up once again…and of course, it’s this battle is over their daughters.

Rebecca Budig Dishes on Taylor

Recently, Soap Opera Digest touched base with Budig to get her take on Taylor’s reasons for coming home, her latest meltdown, and what’s to come for her character. “She really feels like she’s not spent enough time with Steffy [Jacqueline MacInnes Wood] and with her grandkids,” she says of her alter-ego. “I think she’s getting older and realizes that she wants to be around the people that she loves.”

That love absolutely includes Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). “I think that Ridge is the love of her life,” Budig states. “But that’s not why she’s back. She really is back to spend more time with Steffy because she’s been through so much and Taylor wasn’t there for it.”

And, she means it. It’s definitely not because Taylor saw Ridge kissing Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) in Monaco. That was all just a coincidence. “she knew [Ridge and Brooke were there], because obviously the Brooke’s Bedroom line was dropping and that was a big deal in town. But yeah, she had an appointment there and she just happened to see them.”

Now that she’s home, she’s not taking any guff from those Logan ladies, especially not after hearing one of this was kissing her very married son-in-law. “Taylor just goes into total Mommy mode and just doesn’t even see straight. She is trying to wrap her head around the fact that this is happening. Taylor is a very protective mom and she is passionate about her kids.”

Taylor didn’t just take Brooke to task over her daughter’s lusty ways. She also lost it on Hope (Annika Noelle). “She is disappointed and she is shocked because I think she thought that Hope was a little more trustworthy and had it more together.”

It sounds like the rift between the families isn’t about to calm down anytime soon. Taylor is very much ready to tear apart anyone who hurts her kids. And, Brooke will surely go all out to protect Hope…even knowing she’s in the wrong.
