The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Brooke’s Strange And Odd Power Of Prayer Brings Eric Back To Life

Today’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for December 22, 2023, details the Forrester family Christmas miracle.

Eric Finally Wakes

Eric’s (John McCook) loved ones were over the moon when his eyes started fluttering as they discussed taking him off the ventilator. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) took it as a sign that Eric could hear them. As Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Bridget (Ashley Jones), and Finn (Tanner Novlan) gave them hope and confidence that Eric could breathe on his own, they finally removed the ventilator.

Sadly, Eric had trouble breathing at first so Brooke read more bible verses without bursting into flames, while Bridget quickly put an oxygen mask over her father’s face. Finally, Eric took a breath on his own and opened his eyes.

His vitals quickly began to improve, but Eric still had trouble speaking. However, when he saw his family, he tried to speak and couldn’t believe he was still alive. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) explained that Finn found a way to heal him. When Eric saw all the holiday decorations around him, he finally spoke the words “Merry Christmas” — giving loved ones exactly what they needed to hear.

Loved Ones Rejoice And Sing

Back at the Forrester mansion, Katie (Heather Tom), Luna (Lisa Yamada), RJ (Joshua Hoffman), and Zende (Delon De Metz) decorated the tree at Donna’s request. She wanted the house filled with holiday spirit. RJ wondered if Eric would ever see the decoration, but Katie and Luna assured him that he would.

Zende was determined to send Eric positive energy by sharing stories of his grandfather, showing just how grateful they were for his contribution to their lives. Zende remembered how Eric was so welcoming when his parents returned from their honeymoon with a little boy to adopt.

Katie shared her own memories of Eric, declaring that he deserved a Christmas miracle. This year, rather than Eric playing the piano fo caroling, RJ played with Luna by his side. Before the evening ended, they got the call that Eric was awake and breathing on his own.

That prompted them all to break into a rousing rendition of Joy To The World as Eric’s portrait looked on.
