Today’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 17, 2023, has Donna discovering more of Eric’s health secrets and Li revealing some secrets about her past.
Eric’s Health is Getting Worse
In the Forrester living room, Eric (John McCook) seemed discombobulated as he went over his designs and materials before he started once again coughing up blood. This time, Donna (Jennifer Gareis) walked in on him and discovered the blood on the handkerchief. He was forced to tell her this wasn’t a new thing. He didn’t want to worry her anymore, but it was too late. She was worried sick and wondered what was happening to him.
Donna called his doctor despite Eric insisting he wouldn’t listen to medical advice because he was going to have his grand fashion finale no matter what. She freaked out even more when the doctor arrived and she saw the look on his face at the news that Eric had been coughing up blood for weeks.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) picked up where Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Hope (Annika Noelle) left off in Eric’s office and on Eric’s desk but they didn’t take things quite as far as the younger couple. Rather than taking all their clothing off, they decided to gossip about the Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) situation. Ridge called Deacon an idiot but Brooke tried to defend her ex while admitting he has some poor decision-making skills. Brooke also wanted to talk about Thomas and Hope and couldn’t believe Hope refused to follow her orders to stay away from Thomas.
They soon entered less contentious territory and discussed the fashion war. Ridge was determined to beat Eric in this little contest but he had no idea what Eric was going through. Charlie (Dick Christie) was even excited about the big fashion showdown and couldn’t wait to see who won this father vs. son contest. Ridge still hoped this would be a fair fight even if it might become Eric’s last stand.
What’s the Story With Li and Luna?
RJ (Joshua Hoffman) spent his time in the design room where he remembered his moments and kisses with Luna (Lisa Yamada). He was not about to let her leave Forrester Creations and was happy when she appeared ready for her interning duties. Luna praised RJ for his design talent and was flattered by the way RJ defended her to her aunt. She admitted that Li had been hard on her and her mother for years and had never had anyone support her as much as RJ did.
Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) went over a case in his office before he brought up the subject of Luna. He was happy to see her but disturbed by the fact that Li insisted she leave FC and Los Angeles. Li tried to avoid the topic. Finn wondered why Luna and Poppy (Romy Park) just disappeared from their lives years ago after he and Luna had been close as kids. Li angrily told him that Poppy ruined her life at one point and she’d never forgive her sister.
