Today’s The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 18, 2023, details Eric’s determination to create his final line. Plus, Finn finally learned why his mother hates his aunt.

Donna Can’t Talk Sense Into Eric

Eric (John McCook) and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) met with Eric’s (John McCook) doctor but he wasn’t sure what was really wrong with Eric. Coughing up blood made things much more serious but Eric refused to believe he was dying. After listening to Eric’s lungs, the doctor was more concerned than ever. When he heard Eric was still working, the doctor was outraged but Eric still refused to give up. Donna tried to talk some sense into him but Eric insisted he needed this one last hurrah in his life.

A frustrated Eric wasn’t going to allow Ridge to throw him out like an old broken stapler. Eric still functioned and was going to show the world what he could still do with fashion and design. He still had a passion for creating beauty.

Ridge Won’t Back Down

The fashion war was well underway as Eric and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) worked in their perspective corners but Ridge had no idea Eric was working against the doctor’s orders. Ridge was still worried about his dad and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was there to listen to him. Ridge didn’t understand why Eric was picking this fight but he knew he would win and how much it would devastate his dad. At least they were grateful to Eric for giving RJ (Joshua Hoffman) a direction in life.

Ridge reminisced about watching Eric create designs as a child and marveled at the fact that he was now sitting at Eric’s desk. But he wasn’t about to hand the reigns back to Eric. His father asked him to be his successor and he can’t just take it away from him on a whim. He also didn’t like the money Eric was spending on his final line. As for Brooke, she just couldn’t wait for this contest to be over because it was causing too much animosity and stress.

Li Revealed Her Family Secret

Finn (Tanner Novlan) demanded to know how his Aunt Poppy (Romy Park) ruined Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) life, but she was hesitant to say. As Finn became more insistent, Li finally caved and told Finn that Poppy nearly ruined her career by having an affair with the chief surgeon at the hospital where Li worked. Li had gotten her sister a job and she betrayed her for her efforts. She wasn’t about to let Poppy and Luna (Lisa Yamada) turn her life upside down again.

Li was the only female surgeon at her hospital but she was blamed for her sister’s affair and was transferred elsewhere. She was convinced that letting Poppy back in their lives would ruin her career as well as Finn’s.

Over at Forrester Creations, RJ and Luna spent more time together in the design room as he worked on Eric’s new collection. He was grateful that she was there to listen to him talk about how concerned he was about Eric.
