The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ashley Jones and her family are in mourning this week after the death of her grandmother, Vonda. The star took to social media to pen a wonderful tribute in her honor.

A Proud Granddaughter

In her Instagram post, Ashley opened up about attending her grandmother’s celebration of life and what her Nanny meant to her. She was dearly loved and very sadly missed.

“Yesterday was a beautiful celebration of a life well-lived. My grandmother Vonda would have been so proud to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gather to honor her.
My grandmother, born in 1929, was a novelist and poet, as well as a vivacious, ambitious entrepreneur in a time and place where women were not rising to the top of the business world easily. I treasure all the handwritten letters Nanny sent me, grateful I have them. She had many accomplishments, but her greatest was her service to the Lord. While she was extremely proud of her successful businesses, she was more proud of her family.
She was a mother to 9 children, grandmother to 27 grandkids, 42 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

If you’re still reading at the point, one of things I hope you take away from this post is this: really talk to those you love. Let them know how proud you are of them in the living years. Although I knew my grandmother well and loved her deeply, I learned things about her I never knew until yesterday.

One thing I did know for sure, until her last breath, she sang of the goodness of God.
