The Days of our Lives recap for the week of May 20th looks back on Chanel deciding to keep her baby, Everett going off the rails and receiving a diagnosis, Eric returning Nicole’s son to her loving arms, and so much more!

Monday, May 20th

Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) took the hospital to meet with the specialist his daddy flew in. But first, they helped calm a distraught Holly (Ashley Puzemis). Afterward, they saw the doctor off-screen and later discussed how it was all a waiting game, for now.

As for Holly, she met up with Tate (Leo Howard) in the park and cried about the fight with her mom. Leo (Greg Rikaart) spied them through the bushes and snapped some pics of the teens kissing. Thankfully, they caught him and begged him to delete the photos…which he did.

Paulina (Jackée Harry) welcomed Melinda (Tina Huang) to her office and offered her the D.A. job back. Melinda was temped and Paulina kept pushing. Her hands are clean so what is she afraid of? Oh, Paulina, if you only knew.

EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) was shocked to see his wife kissing Eric (Greg Vaughan) but instead of confronting the pair, he backed off, waited for it to end, and let Nicole (Arianne Zucker) act innocent. She was very, very drunk and he promised to take care of her. Eric ran home with goodies in tow for his wife to butter her up so he could go back to work.

Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) was not so pleased when EJ banged down her door later. He was there to take the baby! Oh, and he wanted to raise Jude as his and Nicole’s son!

Tuesday, May 21st

Ava (Tamara Braun) worked herself into a job at the pub. Roman (Josh Taylor) was pleased with her! However, Kate (Lauren Koslow) was not pleased at all. She put Ava on alert that if she misstepped in any way she’d be out on her behind. Noted!

Stephanie (Abigail Klein) ran to the paper with the news of EJ’s firing and Melinda’s hiring. Everett (Blake Berris) suggested they hit up the pub and throw back a few. And so, he, Stephanie, and Leo were off to Small Bar.

Sloan refused to hand over Jude and tried to talk sense into EJ. She was dumbstruck by what her husband and his wife were up to, though. EJ was adamant. The baby needed to be home so he could control his wife better. Sloan warned him she was spilled about Eric being the daddy, and EJ threatened to put her behind bars. Then, he offered to help her start a new life.

He gave her 24 hours to say goodbye. Eric later came home to an empty house and a call from Roman the baby was at the pub. He eventually tracked his wife down in Small Bar where she was drinking her face off. He tried to talk to her but Everett went a bit batty and punched Eric.

Meanwhile, Chad (Billy Flynn) took Abigail’s diary to Steve (Stephen Nichols) to get his thoughts. They agreed Clyde needs to be back behind bars and Steve said he’d help as much as he could. Chad then made his way to the mason to ask EJ for help and guidance. EJ vowed to help avenge Abigail’s death in any way he could.

Wednesday, May 22nd

Good news came for Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes). She, Doug (Bill Hayes), and Chad were thrilled the house was ready. Julie called Maggie and started packing. Maggie took the news well and Alex was thrilled. He told Maggie he planned on claiming his half of the mansion.

Brady (Eric Martsolf) griped to Theresa (Emily O’Brien) about not finding love. Maybe he wasn’t meant for it? Talk soon turned to their son’s prom. Tate’s in for a treat — they’ll both be chaperones.

As for Tate (Leo Howard), he confessed to Aaron (Louis Tomeo) that he was still secretly dating Holly. Oh, joy! They later stopped by Sweet Bits where Aaron touted Felicity’s baking talents and Tate got to know the new player.

Meanwhile, Johnny got a job offer he had to refuse. He didn’t want to relocate. Their life was in Salem. Afterward, he and Chanel talked about their baby. Chanel wanted their child and was ready to move forward with the pregnancy, no matter what. Johnny agreed.

Thursday, May 23rd

While out and about with Jude, Eric ran into Marlena and showcased his black eye. He had quite a tale to tell, none of which is mother enjoyed hearing.

Stephanie told Chad about Everett and they agreed to be the ones to bail him out. Why not? He’s their Editor-in-Chief, after all. What they didn’t realize was all the drama going down at the SPD. Everett was claiming he was Bobby and Jada (Elia Cantu) phoned Marlena to come help. The doc showed up just in time to watch Bobby switch back to Everett which confirmed Marlena’s theory that he has D.I.D.

Over at the apartment, Sloan called Melinda (over and dropped several bombs. She had to give the baby back. And, EJ was going to claim he’s the dad. Melinda wasn’t happy and demanded her name stay out of it. Eric came home with the baby and Melinda took her leave. After she was gone, Sloan blurted out her new half-truth. That child is Nicole’s…and EJ’s! Poor Eric was blindsided.

Meanwhile, EJ had his goons keep tabs on the goings-on at Sloan’s place and did all he could to keep Nicole (Arianne Zucker) home. She wanted to run to the office but he stopped her with various chit-chat and the bombshell that he was going to make a bid for Mayor!

Friday, May 24th

Jada and Rafe (Galen Gering) questioned Marlena about Everett. She wouldn’t talk about her past with Everett but did say she thought he was both Bobby and Everett. The good news is, he can be treated. The bad news is, no one knows where he went since he got bailed out. Stephanie showed up and Marlena told her what was going on. Jada expressed her regret for not seeing that things were so wrong with her husband.

In the square, Chanel was excited about the baby and decided she was done living in dread over her pregnancy. And, she wanted to shout the news of the pregnancy from the rooftops. Chanel and Johnny went home and told EJ and Nicole they were pregnant. It was taken super well by Nicole but EJ pulled Johnny aside and outright told him this was a mistake. A very big mistake.

Back at the apartment, Sloan told Eric her new half-truth about baby Jude. He was Nicole and EJ’s baby. Sloan admitted the adoptive parents backed out because of her history. She then told him about Dimitri. She said once she held the baby she decided to keep him. She ratted out Leo as a cohort and said it was Eric’s investigation into her funding Leo that pushed her to spill the truth.

Eric then turned his attention to Jude. He needed to take the baby home to his real parents. Eric began packing the baby’s things. When Sloan tried to say goodbye to the baby, Eric forbade it. Stay away from the baby! Don’t say another word! Eric showed up and handed the baby to Nicole. Your son, he didn’t die. Jude is your son. Nicole was shocked.
