Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for November 2, 2023, has Nicole and EJ marrying, Holly making a confession, and Li falling prey to an ultimate con.
Li Falls For Gabi’s Tricks
Gabi (Camila Banus) laid it on thick so Li (Remington Hoffman)would believe she was kidnapped. He was a little confused as to why she’d call him and not Stefan (Brandon Barash). When he insisted on calling the police, Gabi told him not to and then hung up to make it seem like she was in real danger
Stefan met with Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton) in the park, insisting the mad scientist owed him, so he was going to help him get Li’s DiMera Enterprises shares. Rolf was to reveal what he knew about Li and Megan’s (Miranda Wilson) plot to kill Stefan so he and Gabi had the blackmail info they needed.
When Rolf showed up at Li’s apartment door, he barged right in and enacted Stabi’s plan. Rolf claimed to know about Gabi’s kidnapping and even revealed that Megan kidnapped her. Li had to cooperate with Megan or Gabi would be killed.
Li played right into Rolf’s hands and admitted he never should have joined forces with Megan to have Stefan killed. That was the blackmail information that Gabi and Stefan needed to get their hands on Li’s shares. As Li screamed in Rolf’s face to reveal Gabi’s whereabouts, she entered the apartment and revealed it was all a trick.
He was now on the hook for plotting to kill Stefan — unless he gave up his shares. Although he tried to get out of it at first, Li finally relented and signed the papers giving Gabi and Stefan control of the company. After Gabi, Stefan, and Rolf left, Li vowed revenge.
Confessions Before A Wedding
EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) didn’t care if Chad (Billy Flynn) would be dressed up for his wedding or not. There was no time to waste, so he brought his brother home with him to officiate while Nicole (Arianne Zucker) made her own preparations
Of course, Nicole’s prep included running into Eric (Greg Vaughan). She explained with the baby coming any day, it was time to finally make it official with EJ. Nicole was thinking of Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) unhappiness without realizing the real reason her daughter wasn’t also her cheering squad at the moment. Eric was touched to hear Holly wanted him and Nicole to reunite, but he’d resigned himself to that never happening.
While Eric admitted he missed Nicole and Holly, Nicole was resigned to marrying EJ. She was having his baby, he was good to her, and Sami wasn’t around to ruin their marriage this time around. However, she had to confess that she wouldn’t be marrying EJ if she wasn’t pregnant with his child.
After his talk to Nicole, Eric ran straight to his mother to talk about his feelings and admit that if Nicole were carrying his child, he would be marrying her and Sloan would be out of luck.
Johnny (Carson Boatman) wondered why Holly wasn’t happy about EJ and Nicole getting married so she told him if his dad married her mom, she’d never have a chance with the man of her dreams. Johnny had already heard Tate (Jaime Martin Mann) tell Eric that Holly had a crush on an older man, so Johnny wanted to know who it was. Without thinking, Holly blurted out that it was EJ.
Needless to say, this stunned Johnny (and Holly too, as she couldn’t believe what she just said), so she chalked it up to a stupid and innocent crush. When EJ walked in, Johnny covered for Holly and didn’t tell EJ what he thought he knew. Later, Johnny advised Holly to stick with high school guys for now. Holly was less than thrilled when Johnny kept calling himself her big brother.
The Wedding Begins
Finally, EJ, Nicole, Johnny, and Holly gathered in the living room with Chad so Nicole and EJ could marry. Holly imagined marrying Johnny during the ceremony, but Johnny brought her out of her fantasy. When it was time for Nicole to say “I do,” she hesitated.
It took a bit, but she finally said the words, so they moved on to the rings, and Chad pronounced them man and wife. Meanwhile, Marlena convinced Eric to evaluate his lingering feelings for Nicole before he married Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and adopted a child with her. That prompted him to call Sloan immediately.
Back at the DiMera mansion, the tiny reception was interrupted when Gabi and Stefan walked in and announced that EJ was fired.
