Today’s Days of Our Lives recap for October 20, 2023, details Theresa’s new life and secret, Eric and Sloan’s quest to adopt, and Xander’s quest for custody.
Alex Has a Proposition for Theresa
Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) was surprised to see Theresa (Emily O’Brien) show up at his door with a housewarming gift. She needed him to redecorate his pad so he’d look like a CEO. The pair sat down to have some dinner and Theresa complained that she didn’t even have a place to live at the moment so Alex suggested they become roommates.
Theresa balked at the idea at first but Alex finally convinced her to bite the bullet since Tate (Jaime Michael Mann) was going to stay with Brady (Eric Martsolf), John (Drake Hogestyn), and Marlena (Deidre Hall) for now. After Alex set up a room for her, he wondered if he made a mistake.
When Theresa went back to the Salem Inn to pack her stuff, she was shocked and horrified when Konstantin showed up at her door, She told him never to come see her or contact her again unless she reached out to him first.
Eric and Nicole’s Awkward Encounter
Eric (Greg Vaughan) and a very pregnant Nicole (Arianne Zucker) ran into one another at the hospital and decided to have a chat. They made small talk for a while and then discussed Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric’s plans to adopt. Nicole was surprised to hear that Melinda (Tina Huang) was helping them with the process.
Nicole wondered why they were not choosing to use a surrogate. Eric explained that it was more important for him to love a child than having one with his genetics. He realized having a biological father wasn’t in the cards for him.
When a nurse interrupted them to give Nicole a prescription, she assumed that Eric was her baby’s father. Nicole awkwardly explained he was not without really knowing the truth on the matter. She also asked the nurse for another hard copy of her DNA tests, which would have some surprising information.
Sarah vs. Xander in a Baby Battle
Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Justin (Wally Kurth) met for a meal to discuss her custody case. She still couldn’t believe that Xander (Paul Telfer) was suing for full custody of Victoria. Justin was reassuring that Sarah would look like the better parent in the judge’s eyes.
However, he could not guarantee the outcome because he knew Xander would play dirty and bring up the fact that Sarah has a habit of lying about her babies’ paternity. She even picked Xander to be a fake father to her first child. Justin also worried that Sloan would use Sarah’s time believing she was Renee Dumonde against her.
Xander showed up at Sloan’s apartment to get some reassurances about the custody battle. Sloan told him to forget about Sarah’s feelings in the matter and just go for it. It’s not like Sarah cared about his feelings when she lied about her baby’s paternity. Sloan reminded him they’d have to play dirty to win this case.
When Sloan brought up using the time Sarah was drugged to think she was Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) dead child against her, Xander was totally against it. He was sure Sarah was fine and the drugs that were in her system were gone. Sloan wanted Xander to be able to play dirty against Sarah and he wasn’t so sure.
Sloan kicked Xander out as soon as Melinda dropped in to tell her that a private adoption may not work out. The fact that she covered for her brother when he went after Paulina (Jackee Harry) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) could prove problematic when it comes to a legal adoption. Melinda still promised to find a baby for Sloan and Eric.
