Fifty-eight years. Fifty-eight glorious years I’ve been glued to my screen, watching the triumphs, the tragedies, and the endless twists and turns of our beloved Days of Our Lives. And let me tell you, if the latest spoilers for Friday, April 17, are anything to go by, we’re in for a classic Salem rollercoaster ride! From Belle’s legal eagle instincts to Marlena’s heart-wrenching past and Alex’s inevitable face-plant, this episode promises to deliver the kind of drama only our show can.
Grab your popcorn, because Daily Drama is breaking down exactly why Friday is a must-see event, complete with my veteran fan theories and predictions!
Belle Black’s Spidey Sense is Tingling – What is Paulina Hiding NOW?
First up, let’s talk about our sharp-as-a-tack lawyer, Belle Black (the ever-brilliant Martha Madison). The spoilers reveal that Belle’s ‘suspicious’ and has a ‘hunch’ that Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) is keeping something under wraps. Now, if you’ve been watching as long as I have, you know that when Belle gets a feeling, it’s usually spot-on. Her legal mind is inherited from her legendary parents, Marlena and John, and she doesn’t suffer fools lightly.
Paulina Price, bless her flamboyant heart, has a history of keeping monumental secrets. Remember the whole Lani/Chanel parentage debacle? That bombshell shook Salem to its core! Paulina’s intentions are usually good, but her methods? Always questionable, and often illegal. So, the big question is, what fresh mess has our favorite realtor gotten herself into this time?
Could it be related to Chanel (Raven Bowens) and Johnny’s (Carson Boatman) bakery? Perhaps a shady business deal that could jeopardize Sweet Bits? Or maybe it’s something tied to her past, something even more explosive than the Lani secret. Paulina is fiercely protective of her family, especially Chanel, so whatever she’s hiding, it’s bound to be for ‘their own good.’ But as we know, in Salem, secrets always have a way of exploding. And with Belle Black on the case, Paulina had better start preparing for a legal grilling! My money’s on Belle uncovering something that impacts the entire Price-Carver-Grant clan. It wouldn’t be the first time Paulina’s good intentions paved a road straight to hell.
Marlena Evans Faces a Heart-Wrenching Lexie Carver Shock
Oh, my heart aches just thinking about this one. The spoilers indicate that Marlena Evans (the incomparable Deidre Hall) will face a ‘curveball’ involving Lexie Carver. Lexie (the beautiful Renée Jones) was not only Abe’s beloved wife and Eli’s mother, but she was also Marlena’s step-daughter through Roman and a dear friend. Her tragic death from a brain tumor, brought on by Stefano’s brainwashing, was one of the most heartbreaking storylines in DOOL history. Lexie’s final moments, walking into the light on the beach with Abe, still bring a tear to my eye.
So, what kind of ‘Lexie shock’ could Marlena possibly be facing now? Lexie has been gone for years, yet her presence still looms large over Salem, especially for Abe (James Reynolds) and Eli (Lamon Archey). Could it be a hidden letter Lexie wrote, perhaps a confession or a secret she kept about someone else? Maybe it’s a discovery related to Lexie’s medical past, or something she uncovered as a doctor at Salem University Hospital before her passing. Given Marlena’s deep connection to Lexie, both professionally as a psychiatrist and personally as family, this revelation will undoubtedly hit her hard.
Imagine finding out Lexie had a secret child before Abe, or a hidden fortune, or even a diary revealing a side of her no one knew. The possibilities are endless, but one thing is for sure: any shock involving Lexie will dredge up powerful emotions and potentially alter the landscape for the Carver and Grant families. Marlena has seen it all, but the ghost of a loved one can still bring even the strongest ‘Doc’ to her knees. I’m bracing myself for a truly emotional storyline here.
Alex Kiriakis’s Doomed Surprise – Get Ready for a Hilarious Disaster!
And then there’s Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson), our resident Kiriakis playboy with a heart of (sometimes tarnished) gold. The spoilers promise that Alex will have a ‘plan that backfires spectacuarly,’ a ‘doomed surprise.’ Honestly, I wouldn’t expect anything less! Alex is notorious for his grand gestures that often go hilariously – or tragically – wrong. Remember his attempts to win over Stephanie (Abigail Klein)? Or his recent entanglement with Theresa (Jen Lilley) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk)? The man means well, but his execution is usually a train wreck waiting to happen.
What kind of surprise could Alex be planning that’s destined for failure? Given his history, it’s almost certainly romantic. Is he planning a huge, over-the-top proposal for someone, only for them to reject him publicly? Or perhaps he’s arranged a romantic getaway that gets ruined by a Salem-sized catastrophe. Could he be trying to impress someone with a business deal that turns out to be a scam? Knowing Alex, it will be flashy, expensive, and designed to sweep someone off their feet, only to trip them instead.
My prediction? Alex is going all out for a woman, possibly someone new, or maybe even an attempt to rekindle an old flame. He’ll believe he’s concocted the perfect romantic moment, only for a misunderstanding, a rival, or just pure Kiriakis bad luck to turn it into an absolute disaster. It’ll be a moment that makes us cringe, laugh, and ultimately feel a little bit sorry for our perpetually unlucky-in-love Alex. He tries so hard, doesn’t he?
