Given EJ’s own checkered past – remember when he faked his death? – he’s no stranger to secrets. This could send shockwaves through his already tumultuous relationship with Nicole Walker DiMera (Arianne Zucker), who has certainly seen her share of DiMera deception.
Meanwhile, across town, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) confronts Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) about a suspicious phone call. My heart always breaks a little for these two! Tuesday brings a familiar chill to Salem as Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) senses a dark presence looming over the town. When Marlena gets that feeling, you know it’s serious! Is it another possession attempt? A new villain with a supernatural agenda? Or perhaps a returning foe seeking revenge? She immediately confides in her beloved John Black (Drake Hogestyn). John and Marlena have faced down literal demons, so whatever this threat is, they’re the dream team to tackle it. My mind immediately flashes back to all their battles with Stefano DiMera and the original demonic possession storyline – they’ve seen it all, and survived it all!
Elsewhere, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) finds herself at a familiar crossroads, torn between two lovers. Oh, Chloe, always the center of a triangle! My bet is on Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and possibly Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), given their past, or maybe a new suitor we haven’t met yet. Chloe has a history of complicated love lives, from Philip Kiriakis to Daniel Jonas, and even getting caught in the middle of Kristen DiMera’s schemes for Brady. Who will she choose this time, and will it finally lead to lasting happiness?
Wednesday, August 26: Patch & Kayla’s Race Against Time
Hold onto your hats, because Wednesday is all about our favorite supercouple, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans)! Spoilers indicate they’ll be racing against time to save a loved one from a dangerous illness, potentially linked to a past villain. Given Kayla’s medical expertise and Steve’s unmatched detective skills, they’re the perfect pair for this kind of crisis. Is it Joey? Stephanie? Or maybe even someone unexpected like Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) or a new character whose life is suddenly in peril? While the name isn’t officially released, all signs point to one of the most iconic characters in Days history, someone many of us have yearned for! Could it be Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), fully alive and well, finally reuniting with his beloved Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso, if she’s back, or a new actress in the role)? Or perhaps another presumed-dead character, like Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) from one of his many ‘returns,’ or even Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) after a brief absence? This return is slated to create immediate conflict for Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) and Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) – our ‘Cin’ couple. Whatever the case, this will be a moment for the history books, reminiscent of when Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) was revealed to be John Black! I’m already clearing my schedule!

And with Marlena sensing darkness, we know a big, overarching villain or supernatural plot is likely on the horizon, which always brings the best out of our heroes, John and Marlena.
I predict EJ’s secret will be linked to a past crime or a hidden asset, further complicating the DiMera power struggle and potentially drawing in Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) for some comedic relief or blackmail.
