From Stefano DiMera’s endless “deaths” and resurrections to countless births and near-fatal accidents, that place has witnessed it all.
Who could be at the center of this medical nightmare? My first thought goes to Dr. Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve “Patch” Johnson (Stephen Nichols). They’ve been through so much, and Kayla is always on the front lines. Could this be a new health crisis for someone close to them, perhaps their son Joey Johnson (James Lastovic), or even Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams), who has just returned to Salem and is back in medical school? Tripp’s return feels significant, and a medical emergency involving him or someone he cares about would certainly put his new skills to the test.

My top prediction for a heartwarming reunion has to be between Steve and Kayla. After everything they’ve endured – clones, brainwashing, and separate lives – seeing them truly settle back into their “Patch and Sweetness” dynamic is what we’ve all been craving. Perhaps Tripp’s return brings them closer than ever, reminding them of the family they’ve built.
Then there are the old flames! Could we see some sparks fly between Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo)? They’ve always had that fiery, undeniable chemistry, even when they’re at each other’s throats. The spoilers specifically mention Gwen Rizczech during the week of August 17-21. This newcomer is quickly proving to be a force to be reckoned with. Her mysterious past with Jake and her obvious desire to reclaim him from Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) is pure soap opera gold. Gwen is manipulative, cunning, and clearly has a hidden agenda. Remember how she conveniently showed up right as Jake was being revealed as Stefan O. DiMera’s (also Brandon Barash) twin? Too perfect!
Could Gwen be directly involved in the character death? Perhaps someone gets too close to her secrets, or she orchestrates an accident to get what she wants. Or maybe the medical horror is a direct result of one of her schemes. Whatever it is, Emily O’Brien is delivering a fantastic performance, and Gwen is definitely a character to watch. She reminds me a bit of a young Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) – always stirring the pot!
