Seems Drew Cain’s little self-help book, “How to Lose Friends and Adversely Influence People,” has come back to bite him – literally. In gun-crazy Port Charles, it was inevitable that one of his many victims would seek a little… ahem… retribution. While we’ve got a pretty good idea of who pulled the trigger, the million-dollar question remains: Did they finish the job?

Does Drew Flatline?

Now, loyal viewers will recall that a little lead poisoning doesn’t always mean a one-way ticket off the show in Port Charles. Practically everyone has taken a bullet or two over the years and lived to tell the tale. (Remember when Luke fell down the stairs?) So, it’s entirely possible that Drew will pull through this ordeal.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Drew tried to milk this for all it’s worth, hoping for some sympathy and attention. I won’t hold my breath for people feeling sorry for him.

But let’s consider the darker possibilities. What if Drew survives, but with lasting consequences? Imagine him waking up paralyzed after a spinal injury! Who would lift a finger to help him? Portia certainly wouldn’t, not after what he put her through. Elizabeth is firmly #TeamWillow. Lucas despises him, and even Isaiah might hesitate to play doctor knowing the chaos Drew has caused. The drama continues as their fates entwine in a hospital room.

Are We Headed for a “Misery” Storyline?

Here’s a tantalizing thought: what if Willow, despite her better judgement, finds herself in charge of Drew’s care? Could she seize this opportunity to exact a little (or a lot) of revenge? After Drew’s long reign of terror, I daresay many viewers might pay to see that!

However, more likely, the Cain family fortune will swoop in and bring in a top-notch specialist. And rumor has it, a certain daytime legend is about to grace our screens, playing a pivotal role in this very storyline! (Keep an eye on the blog for more on that soon.)
