Shannen Doherty, actress, advocate, and tabloid darling, lost her valiant battle with cancer on Saturday, July 13, 2024. In light of the momentous loss, two daytime stars who knew her well are paying tribute.

Shannen Doherty Remembered

Ted King (Danny Roberts, Loving/The City; ex-Luis Alcazar/ex-Lorenzo Alcazar, General Hospital; ex-Jack Finnegan, The Bold and the Beautiful et al.), whose Inspector Andy Trudeau romanced, investigated, and ultimately laid down his life for Doherty’s alter-ego on Charmed wrote: “We created a special television couple for the ages. My heart goes out to your family. Rest in peace Shannen, rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane, GH), who played mother to the titular “Charmed Ones,” posted on Instagram: “Beautiful Shannen. What a warrior. Fierce talent, passionate actor, friend, advocate. She fought. My heart goes out to her family, her beloved mama, her doggy, her friends who loved her equally fiercely as she loved them. God, I’m sorry for this loss…. Rest in peace Shannen”

Doherty’s passing was confirmed by her publicist, Leslie Sloane, in a statement made public to several outlets: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
